Meet Maria

Maria is a yoga teacher, energetic advisor, and mindful living advocate in Southern New Mexico.

She strives to create a safe and joyful environment, ensuring the practices she shares are informative, accessible, and empowering.

Her passion is the root of her offerings, encouraging all bodies in their various stages of life to experience intuitive movement, kind and open self-observation, and intentional practices on and off the mat.

The wonderful thing about yoga, meditation and mindfulness is that you can start right where you are with what you have today.

You don’t need a mat, any special equipment or even a quiet space. 

All you need is to do is show up and be open to the experience.

Absolutely! Yoga is an ancient and open practice for all who want to benefit, mindfulness and meditation can be practiced anywhere anytime. 

There is no experience necessary to begin or continue a regular practice.

Sure. I begin practicing yoga and mindfulness as a child with my father on pre-recorded VHS tapes, and in my early adulthood enjoyed regularly practicing at home via YouTube videos. 

Following difficult times, I begin a new practice in studio and pursued teaching with the help of my teacher and mentor Jane Bloom (owner of Dwell Yoga Collective)

I offer an eclectic blend of all my understandings and continued education of these principles and philosophies throughout my various offerings.

I’ve led numerous private and open to the public classes for the past 5 years.

I’ve taught athletes, counselors, med-school students, educators, and essential workers during the peak of the 2020 pandemic. I’ve facilitated kids yoga summer camps, beginners yoga workshops and sold out special events and retreats.

I’ve spoken at conferences about the benefits of a regular practice, I’ve taught children in public schools and day cares, elderly folk in hospice, in public parks and recreation centers, in the homes of families, in corporate offices and various every day students all over the nation virtually.

Meditation is a wellness practice, usually in which you are focusing the mind and connecting mind, body and breathe – there are many ways to meditate! 

Mindfulness is a meditative practice of observation rather than focus.
